Elk Grove Lodge #173
Free and Accepted Masons of California

The Elk Grove Masonic Lodge was organized on July 30, 1864 in the home of Obediah Shank Freeman. On October 13, 1864 the charter was received and became the Elk Grove Lodge #173 F&AM and has been in continuous operation within Elk Grove, CA since.

One look at the picture boards dotting our walls, and you will recognize that many Past Masters have lent their names to streets throughout Sacramento county, but the historical significance our our lodge pales in contrast to the history of Fremasonry.

Historical significance aside, the friends and brothers of Elk Grove Lodge #173 strive for the Masonic goals of brotherly love, relief, and truth. We are truly a society of friends.

How do I become a Mason?

For a Fraternity steeped in over four hundred years of tradition, you might think it is difficult to become a Mason. It is. You must ask. That's it. Not as hard as you thought it would be, was it?

 The Brotherhood of Freemasonry

Freemasonry is a Brotherhood of Men under the Fatherhood of God, charged with the mission of identifying good men and giving them the opportunities and resources to become better men.

One of Masonry's founding and guiding principles is relief. To give of one's self to help another is one of life's highest attainments. Relief comes in many forms — it could simply be helping a brother in need, or coming to the aid of a widow or an orphan.

The family of Freemasonry includes the local Lodges, together with an assortment of appendant and concordant bodies. There are Masonic organizations for youth and for the female relatives of Masons. There are educational organizations, social organizations, service organizations, and honorary organizations.

Stated Meetings are at 7:30 PM on

the second Thursday of each month and are preceded by our
Stated Meeting Dinner at 6:30 PM.

Br. Del Olson's Family Night is at 6:30 PM on the first Friday of the month.
